  • The Taylor K66ce Grand Symphony is a cutaway 12-String acoustic-electric guitar that has a truly stunning look with a solid Koa top, back and sides. The visual allure of the koa is complemented with shimmering abalone trim around the top and soundhole, while figured maple binds the body, fingerboard, soundhole and peghead, and caps the heel. The Taylor K66ce 12-String has sweet tone, orchestra power and is performance-ready, with a Venetian cutaway and Taylor's Expression System electronics. Though you might see similarities to a Grand Auditorium, the Taylor Grand Symphony guitar is unique in both sound and shape. Significant changes in its geometry yield a deeper more piano like bass. A wider lower bout and higher, wider waist return ample volume and low-end sustain in symphony with fuller mids and balanced highs.Designed to faithfully reproduce your guitar's native tone, the Taylor Expression System utilizes patented Dynamic Sensors to capture top and string vibration like never before. Created in partnership with renowned audio pioneer, Rupert Neve, the Taylor ES is seamlessly integrated into the design of the guitar from the ground up. Onboard tone controls provide added flavor, or set flat for an uncolored, exceptionally clean amplified sound. The finish used to create this Taylor 12-string guitar's lustrous gloss top, back, and sides was developed at Taylor for maximum durability and resistance to cold-checking. This ultraviolet-cured finish is also more environmentally friendly than traditional lacquer finishes.

  • Through special arrangements with Gibson, we were able to turn back the clock to the mid-1960's, and that influential period of music history. The J-200 of the mid-60's featured a thinner, faster neck than what is used on the modern J-200. Movement up and down the neck is fast and comfortable. All internal bracing is scalloped by hand, not by a machine like most guitars are today. The top of the guitar is "AAA" grade Sitka Spruce, all hand selected, of course. The back and sides of this guitar are solid European Maple, just like the guitars of the mid-60's, with similar grain and figure patterns. The fingerboard is Madagascar Rosewood, with the traditional Gibson "crown" inlays, with the inlays in genuine mother-of-pearl. While the Madagascar Rosewood bridge maintains the Gibson "moustache" shape, the 60's J-200 uses the "paisley" style mother of pearl inlays, just as it was done during the "British Invasion" years. Even more unique, this pickguard is made from the original 1960's pickup mold to ensure even the smallest detail is period correct. Even the tuning keys are gold plated Grover Imperials, just like the 60's!Back in the 60's, just like today, Gibson finishes their guitars with an ultra thin nitrocellulose lacquer finish that actually blends with the top wood layers, and allows the wood to "breathe" and "open up" over time. This 60's J-200 features that lacquer finish, of course. The guitar is shipped with a custom-fitted case, and a Certificate of Authenticity signed by Gibson's General Manager of Acoustic Instruments. Our 60's J-200 is but one model in the "Acoustic Icon" series created for us by the luthiers at Gibson. A very limited number of these fine instruments are being made available. We currently have them available in your choice of Vintage Sunburst, or Antique Natural finish.
